Space, We All Need Some Place to Run To!

Just caught the movie "The Devil Wears Prada". Short of screaming "I've been there!!!", it has finally hit me. I miss London. I really do miss the fact that despite the millions of people crammed into an amazing city, I could still find my thinking space, my quiet spot and details that would capture my attention, however insignificant. I find myself lapsing into a state of shut down here, while there, i was always 'open' to things happening around me. The emotions, the fact that the fruit i am holding promises some kind of delicious wonderfulness, how the texture of the rough bricks seems even to my touch and that the smell of freshly cut grass is so refreshing. WHY?
We all need something more. A space, a quiet spot, a brimming jar full of soul and heart, an intent to make life a little more fulfilling. Laziness will never be an excuse,...

My Brother The Monkey!

Here he is, all scruffy and 'scallywag' like! Innit! Honestly, after a second look, he looks a lot like Dad. Though, not as round faced, my dad is, he's definitely a step closer to looking like one of my parents than me. Maybe this process of looking like your parents is going to take a long time,....
But nonetheless, we are still blood kin. He may look like a half drunk monkey right now, this irritating guy is still my brother. Hey~! if you are reading this, remember to always save a room in that UK flat of yours! I will definitely be going back to London soon. Refugee or not! *hehe*

Gothica
Inspired by the gothic churches dotted around europe and spain, this pair reminds me of the Sagrada Familia by Antoni Gaudi in Barcelona. Made with Swarovski Crystals, Australian and Czech glass beads, the conical falling shape of the danglies represents the pinnacle of the towers that are usually dotted with intricate details.I do miss walking down the La Ramblas and onto the Marina area. Or getting lost in the National Art Museum. In short, i miss Barcelona. That includes the tiger-nut milk drink, counting the number of antennas on this particular building, having paella, ice-cream, church hopping and wondering, under the hot sun, in the flea market. Well, one day i will be back! I will still take the funicular up to the old fortress, catch the sunset soaking the barcelona bay and drench myself in the seasalted air!~
Orange Bunches of Gems

Bunched together with clusters of yellow frosted stone chips, Czech glass beads and Swarovski Crystals, the concept for this design is/are grapes. Imagine clusters of golden grapes glistening in the sun when the first morning dew starts to evaporate and the sun rays bouncing off wet smooth skins. This half of the earring is also waiting for it's partner. Work in progress!
Sparkling Preciousness!!

Framed around the gold metallic wire, with mainly Czech glass beads and Swarovski Crystals this side of the earring has yet to have it's complete partner. Work in progress. Will be paired up pretty soon! There will soon be a possibility of a stall in one of the markets where yours truly will be selling her handmade accessories. So, orders? Anyone? *hehehe*

Here Comes the BRIDE, all dressed in white, Here Comes the Bride with the Big...

And so, another friend is getting married! Flat and all. Bought and ready to be moved into soon! Here it is in some sequence - Firstly: Kevin and then Henry and then Andre and then Valerie,.... oh my god. Above you see Valerie and her "dear dear" Einy Porter. She is the new MRS Einy Porter! (Einstien Ng lar, but because she has "enslaved" him to carry all her SHOPPING, he's been branded as her personal PORTER.) Excellent!~ hahahah,... so much for the massage sticks with soft toys stuck to the ends,... *wink*
Wedding bells aside, i must say that we have travelled a long way. From the days of hanging out at the drama club room, to month long orientation 'must-do' and to finally graduating, hanging out and coming to our late 20s, we have really stuck it out. I will also not forget our Phuket escapade where we cringe in horror, realising that some ass has decided to put a glass window in the bathroom looking out into the room and balcony and the pool! Veve's farting rants, Dildo's intolerance to milk only to become slightly more tolerant and me addicted to coconut juice. These are the days! And there will definitely be more to come! I will want to watch ur kids grow up, call me "Your Royal Highness Wubber" and us growing old and moving into a retirement village so that we can play scrabble and boggle every day! *muwahahahahahah*
Anyway, dearest Veve and Einy, when you read this, know that I am really really really happy for the both of you. I will only wish for the best for both of you. Love is definitely hard work! So, don't give up and in the words sang by Natalie Cole, "This will be an everlasting love for me! This will be the one i've waited for!"
Iiii Mmmm (a) Ffff-ooool?
So, the IMF is having their 2006 summit in Singapore. And suddenly. out of the middle of the big fat blue, road works are everywhere and flowers abundant!!!!! This reminds me of Chinese New Year, where we clean and spruce up the house to welcome the new year, good luck and guests who may bring their good fortune with them. Are these what we are expecting from the delegates coming for the summit? They are to shower us with fairy dust and make our economy bloom? Our culture more apparent? Our 'million-dollar' government more compassionate towards the people? Or are we just too eager to show what a great "one-stop-convention-centre" Singapore is?
I am, however, disgusted at the blatant, overbearing, backbending, welcome. Not that we shouldn't, but to the extent of repaving roads and what not is just ridiculous. If only they are that eager in repaving the roads and upkeeping public housing island wide for the people, no matter the district, I think this call for spending is really a hypocritical move.
And what of our freedom of speech? So, much for PETA protesting in BATAM,.... my toes are laughing and my eyeballs rolling and my braincells dying at this utter moment. So then! Tell me why I 'LOVE" this island of petty politicians, inefficient government (unless you owe them money) and utterly confounding systems that serve no better purpose?
The answer is I don't!
